Wag, Wag, Wag, I wiggle my golden tail,
Wrestling siblings with my paws of fury.
Confined to my pen, like a crook in jail
Hopefully, I do not face the jury.
Yet, one by one, my siblings go away.
Strangers come in, deciding who to choose
Taggéd by collars, they’re taken each day.
I’m left, take me, I have nothing to lose.
A family enters, my time is done.
I conceal my sorrow, muster my strength,
And wag my tail. They pick me, the last one
My short journey has endured its great length.
I begin a new life, in a new den
But I’ll always miss what I had back then.
